A trip to the southwest and the beauty of the Rocky Mountains were the catalysts for the birth of our company. It didn't happen quite that easily, however. It took some time, some planning and perserverance, to make it happen. Isn't that the way of all dreams?

We were sure that finding a beautiful log home to purchase would be a simple task. We were, after all, in the Rocky Mountains! We were in for a big surprise! All the homes we were shown, consisted of milled logs and some were even finished with materials covering the logs on the inside. This was definitely NOT what we had in mind.

It wasn't long before we realized, that in order to live in a beautiful handcrafted log home, we would have to build it ourselves. Fortunately, the construction background and knowledge were already there. During construction, we had daily visitors. These were strangers who were amazed at the beauty and construction techniques that they saw. We even had offers to purchase the completed house. We thanked them, with polite refusals to sell, but it didn't take long to conclude that there was a definite market and opportunity for us.

One thing usually leads to another and It wasn't long before log home construction led to log home maintenance. So many log home contractors choose not to maintain the homes they have built. As a result, we found ourselves helping these homeowners on a regular basis and our company, Airtight Chinking & Sealing was formed.

The rest, as they say, is history. Thirty-three years have passed and we are still passionately helping our customers realize the same dream that we once had. Some are small vacation homes, while others are large and spacious like lodges. One thing remains constant, however, whatever size the structure is, the quality and beauty of the logs and the construction procedures are all the same.

Whether you want to pursue your dream of owning a log home or are in need of maintenance on an existing home, you owe it to yourself to give us a call and let us discuss your options with you.
